Your Guide to Prague
Prague has always been on my 'bucket list’. I’ve dreamt of exploring this city filled many architectural styles and home of some of the greatest classical composers. My husband and I took a trip to Prague, Czech Republic last fall and completely fell in love the romantic Gothic city.
We loved every inch that we were able to explore in Prague. From the main attractions such as Old Town Square, walking along the Charles Bridge, St. Vitus Cathedral, and Prague Castle to the unending and timeliness cobblestone streets and alleyways. This is a city you’re able to 'get lost' and enjoy every second of it. Prague has this unique charming and nostalgic quality that leaves you breathless.
The architecture was what first caught my eye when we arrived in Prague. The buildings lined next to one another in pastel shades are ornate and incredibly well-preserved. It truly felt like we weren't in a real city...it was too perfect. My husband and I were able to get a view of Prague from above by climbing the Old Town Hall Tower and boy did it take our breath away. From here you can see the infamous red rooftops as well as the Charles Bridge, Vltava River, and across the way to Lesser Town which houses the Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral.
One of the best things about this city is that the main attractions are all accessible on foot. We only used public transportation to enter and exit the city. Why waste time on a tube or bus anyways when you could stroll along on cobblestone streets? Grab a trdelnik filled with ice cream and chocolate and explore.
The Czech food is very similar to German food (in my opinion) which I loved. Bratwurst & beer all the way! Everything is extremely affordable as well. We tried 'going big' for dinner one night and still ended up spending under $100 USD. I could get used to that!
Prague is the place to go, my friends. Don’t miss out on the beauty and rich history that this great city has to offer!
