Kristina and Brady’s wedding day was special for more than one reason. They had gorgeous 75-degree weather (in August!), they were surrounded by their closest friends and families, and their whimsical, earthy wedding was the perfect romantic setting for a particularly momentous occasion – their very first kiss.

The couple’s engagement story and wedding details are reminiscent of a Disney story. In fact, some would say their relationship could only be described as a fairy tale, as Kristina’s part time job in college found her dressing up as princesses for birthday parties!

Brady secretly hired Kristina for a party and when “Cinderella” showed up, she found Brady as her Prince Charming. Surrounded by their friends and family, Brady and Kristina danced to her favorite song, and he proposed that they live happily ever after.

The fairy tale theme continued throughout their ceremony and reception, with Cinderella details integrated into their cake toppers, the ring bearer who held a Cinderella carriage, and their first dance to the iconic "So This is Love.”

Kristina spent the year leading up to their wedding away from her friends, family, and fiancé. Even though there were some stressful moments, Kristina remained positive and surrounded herself with a support group of women who impacted her life in the most significant of ways. Her bridesmaids were a collection of women who, in one way or another, shared a deep connection with her. She credits her friends and family as a gift from God during that time away.

And for the first kiss? Kristina chose to stick with a vow she made years ago and saved her first kiss for her husband. She wore a veil over her face as a traditional symbol of purity, which made the moment that much sweeter. Perhaps the most anticipated moment of the day, she describes the events leading up to their pronouncement as a blur. Their wedding planner even had to recite "the kiss plan" to the couple so that the coveted moment wouldn’t turn awkward!

Kristina’s reflection on the moment: “I was really nervous but still so full of wonder throughout the Ceremony. I could feel a strong sense of peace in my heart and the excitement to see Brady standing there gave me butterflies!”

It can be difficult to avoid societal pressures when making decisions for a wedding or an event, a home, and even daily life. Kristina and Brady used their strong sense of faith to guide them through planning their wedding and their future lives together. In listening to their own wants and trusting their personal convictions, they were able to craft a day filled with memories and sentimental value to share with one another for all their years to come. From their first kiss to their romantic fairy tale theme, Kristina and Brady intentionally chose the many details that made their day a perfect representation of their relationship.

The significance of their faith played a large role in their day and no matter what is happening in life, the couple will have the confidence to hold steadfast to their convictions. If we all root ourselves in something larger than life, whether it be faith, core values, or commitment to bettering the world (among others), perhaps we can all have that same sense of self-assuredness.
